Navigating Boundaries with Care and Compassion

Responsibilities and Ethics

In the world of addiction and mental health treatment, personal development and transformation, ethical considerations are paramount. As a dedicated coach and case manager, I'm committed to providing you with the highest standard of care while adhering to strict ethical guidelines.

Let's explore some crucial aspects of coaching ethics, particularly in the context of trauma-informed practices and professional boundaries.

The Importance of Being Trauma-Informed

Being "trauma-informed" means recognising that many individuals have experienced trauma in their lives, which can profoundly impact their thoughts, behaviours, actions, and overall well-being. Unresolved trauma can lead to adapting coping mechanisms that then lead to dependency and addiction.

As a coach and case manager,  I approach our work together with this awareness, creating a safe, supportive environment that respects your unique experiences and needs.

However, it's essential to understand that being trauma-informed doesn't mean treating trauma itself. Instead, it involves:

1. Recognising signs and symptoms of trauma
2. Acknowledging the impact of trauma and its relevance to other conditions
3. Integrating my knowledge about trauma into my coaching/case management practices
4. Actively avoiding re-traumatisation

5. Referring to trauma qualified clinicians and establishments to address specific needs

Knowing when to refer
or signpost

As your case manager or coach, I'm committed to providing the highest quality support for your personal and professional growth. I recognise that sometimes, the path to your goals will require clinical expertise beyond my scope. That's why I have cultivated a network of trusted professionals, including psychiatrist, therapists, counsellors, specialised practitioners and treatment facilities.

If I believe you could benefit from additional support, I'll openly discuss this with you. By connecting you with the right resources when needed, I ensure you receive comprehensive care tailored to your unique needs. This approach reflects my dedication to your overall well-being and my commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in my practice. I do not benefit financially or otherwise from any referrals.

With me, you're not just getting a coach or case manager – you're gaining a partner who prioritises your success and health above all else, with this global network of trusted clinicians and practitioners.
